Our home sits on Greer Road, right in the heart of Murrieta. It’s the kind of spot where you can grab anything you forgot at the convenience store two minutes away, then drive ten more and feel like you’ve left the world behind. We’re tucked into the hills between Murrieta and Temecula, with Wildomar and Winchester just down the road. Here’s where we send our own family and friends when they visit.
Wine Country
This is wine country, and there’s no shortage of it. More than 40 wineries sit within a short drive. Wilson Creek is the one everyone knows, with its almond champagne and a restaurant worth staying for. Ponte and Thornton are beautiful for a slow afternoon. If you like a bold red, Doffo is a family-run favorite of ours. And if no one wants to be the designated driver, the local tour companies will pick you up nearby and handle the rest.
Old Town Temecula
Old Town is about twenty minutes away and always worth it. Antique shops, little boutiques, good coffee, and restaurants for after a day of tasting. There’s almost always something happening, from car shows to music to movie nights under the stars. It’s the kind of place where an afternoon turns into an evening without you noticing.
The Outdoors
Mornings out here are the best part. Watch the hot air balloons drift over the vineyards, or book a ride yourself, it’s something you don’t forget. There’s hiking at the Santa Rosa Plateau near Wildomar, the quiet of Vail Lake, and our own private trail on the property that ends at a view we never get tired of. Spring fills the hills with wildflowers. Summer evenings belong to the pool and the hot tub.
Room for Everyone
When the whole family comes together, you need space, and things to do. Pechanga Resort has gaming and dining and shows. There are museums and farmers’ markets for the kids. And the property itself keeps everyone happy with mini-golf, ping pong, the pool, and a koi pond that the little ones never want to leave. A family reunion, a small wedding, a big birthday, there’s a corner of this place for every kind of celebration.
Easy to Get To
Being in the center of Murrieta means everything is close. A convenience store is two minutes away, and Costco, Target, Starbucks, restaurants, and urgent care are all within five. San Diego is about an hour. Los Angeles and Orange County are an easy drive. Far enough to feel away, close enough to be simple.
